Baños de Agua Santa, a wonderful place known in the world for its medicinal waters that flow from the interior of the earth, therefore rich in minerals from a volcanic origin. From ancient times, indigenous, colonizers and friars, bathed in, which gave rise to its name. On the way to the amazing Devil´s Cauldron!
Day 1 – Quito – Baños
Early morning we will leave from Quito on our journey we will pass the Avenue of the Volcanoes. This a very scenic trip, with the opportunity to enjoy Andean landscapes and the way the people of the rural areas of Ecuador live, also an awesome view of the tallest and active highest volcanoes of Ecuador and the world, Cotopaxi.
Continuing our journey, we will get to a city called, Latacunga, we can make a stop to taste the local snacks Allullas with mozzarella cheese wrapped in a leaf and a quick leg stretch.
Then, continuing with our journey we will pass through the town of Salcedo which is famous for its fruit ice-cream, next we will get to Ambato, also called the city of “Flowers and Fruits”,
Finally reach Baños, whose complete name is Baños de Agua Santa, famous for the sugar cane handmade sweets made by many locals. Here we will have lunch, then arrive at the hotel and take a two-hour rest. Later, we will meet again to take a walk, visit the Basilica of Nuestra Señora de Agua Santa, go to the pools have dinner and head to the viewing point of Baño. Then, back to the hotel where we will spend the night.
Day 2 – Route of the Waterfalls
After a delicious breakfast, we will continue enjoying this trip, we will take the road to Puyo, and make several stops to visit the waterfalls in the area. First, visit the waterfall and dam called the Agoyán and, continue to the Manto de la Novia (Bride’s veil) waterfall where we will ride the longest cable car in the world. Then we will head to Rio Verde, site of the famous and amazing Pailon del Diablo (Devil´s Cauldron waterfall), and if you like any other attraction on our way, like bungee jumping or the spinning chair we will gladly make a stop. Finally, we will go back to Baños have lunch before we head Back to Quito.
