Quilotoa Lake, is the volcano located furthermost west of the Ecuadorian Andes, inside its crater has formed a caldera with about 2 kms (0.6miles) of diameter, 250m (820ft) deep and 3914m (12850 ft) above sea level. The lake with the same name was formed inside this crater´s caldera, “Quilotoa”. It is considered one of the ten most beautiful lakes around the world according to an article puplished by Condé Nast Traveller.

Baños elevation is more or less at 1800m (5904ft) and its located on the province with the same name as the volcano “Tungurahua” the town of Baños is located right underneath the North Estern side of the Tungurahua volcano and to the East of Ambato, which is the capital city of the Tungurahua province In Baños indigenous traditions and modern customs of American and foreign visitors are mixed. The tourist city of Baños is located in a valley with waterfalls and hot springs next to the Tungurahua volcano with a height of 5,016 meters.

Cotopaxi volcano is one of the most iconic and photographed volcanoes in South America, its the second highes active volcano. The meaning of Cotopaxi is the combination of two words Coto means neck and Paxi means moon in the Quichua (inca language), therefore, the translation would be “Neck of the Moon”.  On a clear summer night, the moon seems to be seating on top of the crater, and looks like a human head and the snow looks like a neck and a poncho this is the reason why it is called, "Neck of the moon".
