Quito an intricate city in the middle of mountains, rivers and canyons that over the years were landfilled and built atop, since Quito began to expand on the slopes of Pichincha Volcano, almost three thousand years of history have gone by,

Today, Quito is a metropolis with 2.7 million inhabitants, which rises day after day with the construction of modern office and condo buildings.
Despite modernity, Quito has managed to maintain it’s beautiful, well preserved and little altered historical center. Quitos old town is currently visited and admired by locals and visitors from around the globe.

Quito´s old town, was recognized by the UNESCO as a world heritage site since 1978. By visiting Quito old town, experience the many aspects that characterize this city as, its people, its habits, its colonial architecture, its Inca roots and spanish influence, visit its main squares, churches and monasteries, the bohemian street and its charm called “La Ronda” and last, an elevation that divides the north side from the south part of Quito city called “Panecillo”.

At 2,850 meters (9,350 ft) above sea level, Ecuador’s amazing capital city is the second highest in the world after La Paz in Bolivia. Quito, a city that spreads out in a unique way, from north to south 80 km (50 miles) and from east to west only 5 kilometers (3miles) , due to its intricate geographycal position located in a high high valley, to the west side the towering Pichincha mountain and to the east deep ravines, therefore it has spread in a longitudinal way towards the north and to the south.
Altough Quito is located high in the andean mountains, during the day its mostly a pleasant weather, with a temperature of between 12°C and (60°F) 24°C (75°F).
Always have in mind to take a rain jacket or umbrella, sunscreen and a hat, so you can be prepared for fall and spring time during the same day

"Option 1"
In the morning we will pick you up from your accommodation and start exploring the city, where you will be able to see part of the old city as well as part of modern Quito, in the old town the visit will be mainly walking due to restrictions on traffic. Will visit some of the main religious attractions, famous for its arquitecture and religious art work. Also we will visit Shungo Loma (El Panecillo) which is a look out point to then have lunch, after lunch will continue walking through traditional places in old town and learning some interesting facts as well.

"Option 2" Full day Quito Tour
In the morning we will pick you up from your accommodation and start exploring the city, you will drive all the way north of the city to start by visiting a geobotanical reserve called Pululahua, which is also know as the inhabited crater, learn about this place and enjoy its unique beauty.
Then your next stop is the Equator line museum, the imaginary line that brings together two hemispheres, try the different experiments and learn more about this famous imaginary line and Ecuador.
Get ready for a traditional meal as the guinea pig "Cuy", or any other traditional meals from the Ecuadorian cusine, as potato soup "Locro de Papas"
Now, get ready for your next ride to the past and head to visit Quito Old Town, known as the best preserved and named a World Heritage site by the UNESCO. On the way you will be able to see part of modern Quito. Once at the old town, the visit will be mainly walking, due to restrictions on traffic. Here you will visit some of the main religious attractions, famous for its arquitecture and religious art work. As the Basilica del Voto Nacional, La Compañia de Jesus, San Francisco, and the traditional road called "La Ronda". Last you will visit Shungo Loma (El Panecillo) you will get there after a short drive. This is a look out point where you will be able to see the city from above from north to south.

It is located north of Ecuador surrounded by volcanoes on the east and west side of the city which at the same time are part of the Andes. One of these espectacular volcanos rises on the west side of Quito its name is, Pichincha. Giving the province its name, being Quito its capital.
